New Book by Bryan Haycock and Amy Sunderman

Bryan Haycock, exercise physiology and nutrition expert and voice of our popular Truth About Diets video series, has just released a terrific new book titled Dietary Supplements. Bryan and his co-author Amy Sunderman give a little history on the supplement industry and how it’s regulated, plus they analyze the effectiveness of 20 of the most popular supplements on the market.

It’s a great resource about how these supplements work, why you might consider taking them, and all relevant research to support whether they work or not. The news media presents so much confusing and contradictory information when it comes to supplements because they really don’t understand the subjects they’re reporting on. I highly recommend this book if you’re looking for concise information on how and if these supplements actually work. It can be a little technical at times, but it’s an excellent resource to help you truly understand the truth of how these supplements can impact your health and longevity, help with weight loss, or improve your performance.

Here are the 20 supplements covered in the book:

Vitamins and Minerals

  1. Multivitamin and Mineral Supplements

  2. Vitamin D

  3. Calcium

  4. Vitamin C

  5. B Vitamins

Specialty Supplements

  1. Omega-3 Fatty Acids

  2. Fiber

  3. Probiotics

  4. Glucosamine and Chondroitin

  5. Coenzyme Q10

Herbs and Botanicals

  1. Green Tea

  2. Garlic

  3. Cranberry

  4. Echinacea

  5. Ginseng

Sports Nutrition and Weight Management

  1. Protein

  2. Energy Drinks

  3. Garcinia Cambogia
